SXSW 2013 Films
A selection of six films that will premiere during the 2013 SXSW edition.

South by Southwest (SXSW) is one of the most innovative festivals in the USA and starts today. There will be a bunch of interesting films that would be presented during this year’s film. The selection is pretty wide and is mainly targeted towards indie productions and first-time directors. Also many of the accepted feature films and documentaries will have their world premiere during these nine days. So if you can’t be in Austin, Texas you can have a glimpse of 3 feature and 3 documentaries that seem quite intriguing and will be presented during the SXSW. Feel free to suggest any other important flick from the festival that should be discovered in the near future.
Holy Ghost People
In this psychological thriller, nineteen-year old Charlotte enlists the help of alcoholic ex-Marine Wayne to find her estranged sister who has gone missing deep in the Appalachian Mountains. Their search leads them to the Church of One Accord and an enigmatic snake-handling preacher named Brother Billy, who’s devoted congregation of outcasts knowingly risk injury or death seeking salvation in the Holy Ghost. What Wayne and Charlotte uncover during their time on the mountain – about themselves and the nature of faith – will shake them to their core, as the mystery of Charlotte’s sister and her fate unravels…
Zero Charisma
Metal-loving gamer geek, Scott Weidemeyer, lives with his ornery grandmother and works a lousy job at a donut shop. But every Tuesday night, he is the omnipotent Game Master, guiding his role-players through a tabletop journey of fantasy and adventure. However, when neo-nerd hipster Miles joins his game, Scott begins to resent the admiration Miles receives from the other players. To make matters worse, the health of his grandmother begins to falter, and his estranged mother visits town, reminding Scott of a childhood he’d just as soon forget. Caught in a spiral of rage and delusion, Scott is forced to take drastic steps to reclaim his honor, and his identity as the Game Master.
