Joel & Ethan Coen – Jury Presidents of the 68th Cannes Film Festival
Joel & Ethan Coen will be the Jury Presidents of the 68th Cannes Film Festival
For the first time Cannes will have two presidents. Joel and Ethan Coen, who are currently filming their upcoming film Hail, Caesar!, will be the co-presidents of the 68th Cannes Film Festival. It should be noted that eight of their films have been screened in Cannes competition. In 1991 they won the Palme d’Or for Barton Fink while their previous work Inside Llewyn Davis wont the Grand Prix in 2013.
In their statement Joel and Ethan Coen said: “We look forward to returning to Cannes this year. We welcome as always the opportunity to watch movies there from all over the world. Cannes is a festival that has been important to us since the very beginning of our career. Presiding over the Jury is a special honor, since we have never heretofore been president of anything. We will issue further proclamations at the appropriate time.”
The official lineup and jury of the 68th Cannes Film Festival will be announced in April and the festival runs May 13-24.
