Renoir will represent France at the Oscars

The French National Centre of Cinematography and the Moving Image (CNC) has announced today that the film which will represent France for the upcoming nomination of the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film will be Renoir directed by Gilles Bourdos.

The Selection Committee that chose the representing film was composed by seven members:

  • Thierry Fremaux, General Delegate of the Cannes Film Festival
  • Paul Otchakovsky – Laurens, President of the Avance sur Recette
  • Isabelle Adjani, Actress
  • Sylvette Baudrot, Script writer
  • Laurent Cantet, Director
  • Estelle Fialon, Producer
  • Alain Terzian, President of the Academy of Arts and Technology of Cinema

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will announce the Foreign Language nominees in the third week of January 2014.
